Greetings ZUFIAW member,
ZUFIAW your union of choice starts off its year with a bang!! ‘Workers First’
The Union’s motto is not just a slogan but a descriptive phrase that speaks into the foundation of our collective successes, challenges, and aspirations as a collective workforce.
Since its inception in 1961, ZUFIAW has represented its members by living its values of integrity, solidarity, accountability and hard work. The Union will continue to partner with the government of the day in fostering economic development and championing the formation of favourable labour laws.
In setting the tone for the year 2022, here are the latest negotiation updates concluded so far with some institutions still negotiating. The following are the institutions that have concluded negotiations:
- Prudential Life Assurance Zambia got a graduated and performance-based increment. The highest got K1,700.
- Zambia Public Procurement Authority got an increment of K1,500 across the board.
- ZSIC Life got a K2,000 cost of living allowance for every unionized member. Other conditions of service adjusted include funeral grants and long service awards.
- INDO Zambia Bank was awarded a salary increment of 11% across the board, an of upkeep allowance K3,000 and other conditions of service adjusted as per Collective Agreement.

ZUFIAW understands its member’s quandary and we will continue to provide solutions and remain relevant to the core of duty. On behalf of the National Executive Council and indeed my own behalf, let me affirm our continued commitment to the partnerships we share with all stakeholders and also maintaining industrial harmony.
