2018 Workers Education Rolled Out
Capacity building seminars for union leadership has now been rolled out and begins with Lusaka where five Branches and the District Committees have already attended in-house seminars at ZUFIAW Training Centre in Lusaka.
The objective of the seminars is to improve the organisation and administrative capacity of Union leaders particularly those who have been elected into Committees at Branch and District Branch levels for the first time.
On Wednesday 27th June 2018, ZANACO and First Alliance Branch Officials will be trained while on Friday 29th June 2018, Branch Officials from National Pension Scheme Authority, ZSIC Life, Workers Compensation Fund Control Board and Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies will benefit from the program.
Other Branches who have been trained are Sanlam, Investrust Bank, First National Bank, National Savings & Credit Bank and Barclays Bank Zambia.
On 4th July 2018, Atlas Mara and Cavmont Bank will be trained while First Capital Bank, bank of China and Prudential will follow on 6th July 2018. On 11th July 2018, Local Authorities Superannuation Fund, Pensions and Insurance Authority and Public Service Pensions Fund will attend the seminar together. Zambia National Building Society, Zambia Public Procurement Authority and ZSIC General Insurance will follow on 13th July and the program will conclude with Standard Chartered Bank on 18th July 2018.
After covering Lusaka, the program will shift to Copperbelt and finally to all District Branches.
All Branch Officials are encouraged to attend these programs so that the gaps in organising members and effective representation are narrowed.
